LGS Supports Georgia Tech’s Winning Electric Car Race
Georgia Tech’s fully-electric race car gets first place in the 2019 Formula Hybrid Race, a student engineering competition which took place at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway earlier this year. LGS Technologies provided free fabricated items to the HyTech Racing team at Georgia Tech University including several 3M adhesive products.
Representing Georgia Tech with a fully-electric racecar, we outperformed our previous record, running in the Acceleration and Autocross events for the first time at this competition and finishing first in the Autocross event with a 44.092 second heat. We were also the only team this year to finish the 44 km Endurance course, something only one other electric team has ever done. We defended our design methodologies well, winning first place in the Design Presentation and second place in the Project Management Presentation.

Our car also weighed in as the lightest vehicle at the competition: 368 lbs! That’s a 45 lb reduction from last year’s vehicle.
